Art and Maths lesson

Today, the First Year at Maria Ausiliatrice School did a double CLIL Art and Maths lesson! First of all, we repeated all the colours in English and then we sang the “Rainbow Song” with music from the LIM. Then, we counted numbers in English. The children, with their First-Year teacher Elisabetta, had learned numbers in Italian up to 10. So, do you know what we did?! We decided to make a commemorative bracelet with ten coloured beads – just to show our milestone learning! We learned, had fun and even had stylish bracelets to take home.
Look at the steps…
1. Cut the elastic to go around our pulse and tie a knot at one end
2. Count 10 coloured beads
3. Hread the beads onto the elastic
4. Put the elastic around your pulse and get an adult to firmly tie a knot
5. Voilà, you can now wear your stylish bracelet!

Oggi, la Prima Classe della Scuola (Primaria) Maria Ausiliatrice ha vissuto una doppia lezione CLIL di Arte e Matematica! Prima di tutto, abbiamo ripetuto tutti i colori in inglese e poi abbiamo cantato la “Rainbow Song” con la musica alla LIM. Quindi, abbiamo contato i numeri in inglese. I bambini, con la loro insegnante Elisabetta, avevano imparato i numeri in italiano fino a 10. Allora, sai cosa abbiamo fatto?! Abbiamo deciso di creare un braccialetto ricordo con dieci perline colorate, solo per mostrare l’importanza di quello che avevamo imparato! Abbiamo imparato, ci siamo divertiti e abbiamo persino creato dei braccialetti alla moda da portare a casa.

1. Tagliare l’elastico in modo che circondi il nostro polso e fare un nodo a un’estremità
2. Contare 10 perle colorate
3. Infilare le perline sull’elastico
4. Mettere l’elastico intorno al polso e farsi fare un nodo da un adulto
5. Voilà, ora potete indossare il vostro braccialetto alla moda!
