Etruscan jewellery CLIL lesson

It’s a typical Thursday Spring morning. The children are a bit restless after the Easter holidays! We must find a fun way to learn English! That’s what we did today in the 5th grade at Maria Ausiliatrice School.

As the children are currently learning about the ETRUSCANS in their history class, we thought it would be enjoyable to make gold filigree jewellery just like they did, using Etruscan techniques.

First of all, we set about cutting the “gold” wire into equal pieces for each student. Then, the second part was very entertaining…we used our imagination and artistic inspiration and we created real jewellery with Etruscan influences: bracelets, earrings, hair clips, rings and necklaces with pendants. What do you think of our creations?

È un tipico giovedì mattina di primavera. I bambini sono un po’ agitati dopo le vacanze di Pasqua! Dobbiamo trovare un modo divertente per imparare l’inglese! È quello che abbiamo fatto oggi in Quinta Primaria alla Scuola Maria Ausiliatrice.

Dato che i bambini stanno imparando a conoscere gli ETRUSCHI durante le lezioni di storia, abbiamo pensato che sarebbe stato divertente realizzare gioielli in filigrana d’oro proprio come facevano loro, usando tecniche etrusche.

Prima di tutto, abbiamo deciso di tagliare il filo “d’oro” in pezzi uguali per ogni studente. Poi, la seconda parte del lavoro è stata molto divertente… abbiamo usato la nostra fantasia e ispirazione artistica e abbiamo creato dei veri gioielli con influenze etrusche: bracciali, orecchini, fermagli per capelli, anelli e collane con pendenti.
